Strategic Communication

The Strategic Communication Project (SPI) is dedicated to the effective pursuit of strategic public diplomacy not only in order to secure a safer world but to advance the universal values of freedom and democracy, by whatever name. The SPI consists of a website, a blog, a task force, and the study of a special topic – Countering Anti-American Disinformation.

THE STRATEGIC COMMUNICATION BLOG – is entitled “What’s Happening Now in Strategic Communication?”. It consists of ongoing events, new publications, and information about the Strategic Public Diplomacy Taskforce.

The SPD Task Force, co-sponsored by the Brookings Institution, The Heritage Foundation, and The Institute of World Politics, holds monthly round table discussions (off-the-record) at IWP. Its mission is to reach a number of actionable recommendations and reforms that can be encapsulated in legislation on a bi-partisan basis, as well as offer useful proposals to the executive branch. Too many of the excellent studies that have been produced are gathering dust; the time has come to find ways of turning recommendations into action.
